The White Coat Reality Check

  Many of you think of med school as 'cool', probably taking reference of popular web medical dramas such as 'House MD', 'The good Doctor' etc.    After being in a med school for over three months, I can certainly say that it's not, it is much closer to hell. T here are no dramatic soundtracks when we walk down the halls—just the smell of formalin and the sound of collective sleep deprivation.  Suddenly you start to like the much hated NCERT textbooks, yes, once you begin your medical journey, the tragedy of BDC, GUYTON AND VASUDEVAN befalls you, I read equivalent of all the NCERTs combined for the first internals itself with two more and a University exam ahead with much more to learn and memorise. I used to confabulate stories of what my life would be like once I got the seat. I imagined the prestige. I forgot to imagine the 2 AM coffee and the 8 AM Histology slides.
